I just wanted to know if an 89 average (about 3.5-3.6 gpa), 1800 on SATs (reading, math, and writing combined), and a bit of volunteer experience can get me admission to SUNY Binghamton. How about Cornell? I plan on applying early to Cornell if my grades are high enough, and if not, then Binghamton. All suggestions and comments are welcome. Thanks!

Well, I'm currently interested in Electrical Engineering (which is a popular major in Cornell), and I was told that Bing's engineering program is great as well.

you've already taken the SATs. are you a senior? if so, it's too late to apply early to cornell. either way, i'd say your chances of getting in are slim, but it's probably worth a shot. you should always have a dream.
the SUNY colleges are also pretty good, but a lot easier to get into, and less expensive. for engineering, you might want to expand your horizons and look for more technical schools.
if you're a junior, retake the SATs. you'll probably do better on them the second time. keep working hard to raise your grades, and don't stress too too much. you'll end up at a fine school if you want to.
good luck.

What do you plan to major in, or what career interests you? They are very different schools and have their own specialties. If you want to be Ivy League, go Cornell. If you are going on later for a Master's degree, your bachelor's doesn't make much difference.

Suny Albany is a little overrated (in my opinion). i would choose Bing for anything in business.
