the most techno music like house, hardcore, RnB, breakz, techno and trance will be produced on a PC with software like "Reason 3.0" that include a bunch of predefined sounds.

have a look at the homepage of Propellerhead, they have a downloadable demo version of Reason 3.0 for Windows and Mac.

Get some instruments, and some recording gear. If you are on a budget, I would suggest getting your equipment used either by going to e-bay, or going to local music stores, they always have used equip.

You will need a good drum machine to lay down the beats, a good keyboard or synthesizer for bass sounds. If you can score an old MOOG, that would be awesome, if not, no problem, most of the high end synthesisers have MOOG emulators.

To record it all see if you can find a used ADAT deck. They are easy to use, and I'm sure you could get a used one very cheap. If you can't afford a used ADAT, go with a good 4 track recorder to start off with.

You also want a mixing board, and you won't need one with a lot of channels.

Pick up some effects pedals, like reverb, chorus, flange, and a microphone or two. Sequencers are nice for techno, but very expensive.

If you have any money left, get a couple of good turntables, and a DJ mixer, so you can earn money as a DJ to support funding of your home studio, plus you can use the turntables to sample beats, bass lines, etc.

If you can connect all of this to your PC and create a home studio, the better for you. There are some programs like Cakewalk that make home recording easy, but you have to have a relatively new, or very powerful PC.

It is very realistic to expect to make a good sounding demo CD, pass it around to the local clubs, and get some radio airplay if you are good enough.

Your local recording studio will also have the equipment you need, just go in prepared, and don't put down 12 sides (songs) at one time. A decent first demo consists of 2 or 3 good songs.

Good luck.

you mean the 00tz 00tz

Well I am in a darkwave/industrial band and most of our electronic aspects are a drum beat recorded and loaded into a computer, distorted to the sound we want, then put it on the synth

There are also downloadable beats

You can use just about any intrument because a cheap/free program can get impressive results from playing around with a recordable noise

You can also use non-instruments, Ive found chainsaws to be able to produce.....erm...intresting results

There are people you can pay to do it fo you however

you cant make it with synthesizers...what you need to do is make a beat with whatever instrument you want and record it...then send it to the technoman (every town has one, just look him up) and he'll make it into a beat..then just use the beat and sing and ur all technoed
