Platys will not be harmed by a betta. They don't have long flowing fins so the betta will not get confused and think it is a betta. It is pretty rare that you will get a betta that kills everything in sight. I keep bettas with all kinds of other fish and only once have I had a betta that attacked everything. All the others have been peaceful except toward each other.

Betta fish somewhat get a foul call, yet we had 2 and we mixed them with countless different fish. I had an angel fish, we even placed the two beta in one tank (we did although watch for days to be sure they did no longer combat) and that they have been the two male. as long as you have a huge sufficient tank and that they'd flow to chop up factors that's fantastic. If the Betta is a woman they are much less aggressive. If the platy isn't aggressive that's fantastic. If the fish you put in have not got extensive fins or surprising hues, that's fantastic besides. i don't be attentive to plenty approximately platy, yet small fish % to swim in a minimum of a three fish college so shop that throughout the time of ideas besides. in basic terms watch your Betta before everything, attempt taking your Betta out for a pair of hours so it should not be territorial and then place it back interior the tank after the recent fish are in there. each thing would desire to artwork out fantastic.

I have had both successes and failures when it comes to keeping bettas with other kinds of fish. It largely depends on the individual betta. Some bettas are aggressive towards all other fish while others are shy with other species. Also(with male bettas), you have to watch to make sure the other fish don't peck at their long fins. Go ahead and give it a try, but be prepared to separate them if things don't work out.

No!!!! Male Bettas CANNOT be kept with platies. Male Bettas will chase and flare at other tropical fish with long flowy fins. Its best if u get fish with small fins and ones that dont even look like a betta . go to bettatalk. they give LOTS of info on these cute little cuddly wuddly bettas.
