It's fun to pretend, dear lady. The fun in and of itself should be self explanitory. In some respects, it represents everything they wish to be: Successful, Wealthy, Well-known, Admired, all of these things. They want to be kings and queens of their world like everyone else does. Unfortunately they may or may not have the actual prerequisites for that type of endeavor, so in the meantime, I suppose it's simply a good feeling to represent that, even when it's not true in effect. I suppose it's collateral damage for the fact that most celebrities do become somewhat of rolemodels for most everyone who hasn't attained their type of status. Personally, I'm a firm believer in "if you want something, Go and get it." Being a "Go-Getter" if you will. Faking will not get you what you want, and in some forms only brings down your credentials. You can have any level you wish to have, if only you'll be stern enough to believe in your own ability and not the ability others have about your current position. They can only see what you've created yourself as thusfar, but you know what you aspire to and what you could create yourself for in the future. This being the case, it's most important that the person themselves make the decisions, because if ever they do become successful, it'll be the naysayers that will love you most, or be most jealous of you. Either way that success over them will be most pleasant for oneself I'd imagine. Not to mention the whole experience would be a dream come true.

People are hungry for recongnition and success, even if it's not valid. They'll do just about anything to get their 15 minutes of fame. Hence the numerous reality shows packed with fools that do things normally people wouldn't even dream of doing.

Some people are pervs so making people think they are celebs will allow the "prey" to give them their personal info. If you think you are talking to a celeb, think again! Celebs are way too busy to talk on the web with fans.
