I believe it's more disrespect these days. Back in the day a man was more discreet when he cheated now he doesn't care who knows. And also don't care what he says to you in front of others.

The law has made it so that men MUST treat women with more dignity than 100 years ago. Just because men open doors and throw coats over puddles for women doesn't imply respect. Respect is allowing women to vote, become elected, hold positions of authority and not expecting her to wait on him....he waits on here and cooks and cleans for her sometimes too.

I think men to day, in general, share responsibilites with women and women do quite a few of the traditional men's duties too. In this day and age, there really isn't work that is categorized as "women's work" or "men's work". Women and men can do it all and work side by side. I think men and women do each other favors that wouldn't have happened 100 years ago.

Although, I'm also here to say that women still do the lion's share of the work both at home and on the job...women are still expected to be twice as good to get half the respect and half the pay but fortunately, that isn't difficult.

If you think treating a woman with respect is pulling out the chair for her and opening the door for her then we get less respect...but if you think respect is not being treated as second class on election day or in a board room meeting then we are gettng slightly more respect today. How exactly do you define respect? I define respect as men standing to attention and offering a 21 gun salute when Madam President walks down the ramp of Air Force One and when there are as many female members of congress as there are men.

well from what i see on TV like that messed up show parental control.the teenagers are young adults are really rude to the parents.I'm sure they are trying to get ratings by this b.s. but i don't want to watch that.and the ones that do most have problems.so yes i think men are treating women wrongly.what if it were the other way around? that's how the men should be thinking.ext.... giving respect!! low lifes are selfish fools.they dont see that they are hurting them selfs.

I think as women reach true equality with men they will get the same disrespect men give each other. At work men don't want to please the boss. They want to be the boss. Guy friends don't respect each other they accept each other and tell each other when their sh!t stinks.

I don't know... Everyone treats ME with respect - I can't complain.

However, as I read Yahoo answers, I'm amazed at how many people treat each other disrespectfully - and how many people tolerate it.

i think men are more disrespectful today than they were. as no one values marriage anymore, they only love u if u meet the conditions they put on the relationship. has alot to do with his past and how many bad relationships he has been in.the more disapointments he has had, the less he is going to try.
