While I am involved with and support the war in Iraq, I believe the manner in which it has been fought since Saddams removal is the wrong approach. The country needs to be secure before any government is set up. It just makes sense. The U.S. needs more manpower, and they need to seal off the country. Nothing coming in or out without being inspected first. Then the Army needs to basically go door to door confiscating all weapons and ordinance and capturing or killing all terrorists and rogue militias that would fight us. With the country free of weapons and those who would use them against us and civilians, it would be easy to set up a government and put it into place, even one as complicated as Democracy. This just makes sense doesn't it?

I agree with you. I'm here in Iraq now. Another thing, kick all the news media out. There is no way that you can fight a politically correct war......NO WAY. In my opinion, if they find a weapons cache in a house or building...once the weapons are removed...I say destroy that house or building. Once you've destroyed several of them and the word gets out, people would think twice before keeping any illegal weapons at their house or business. And as you probably know, we can't depend on the Iraqi army or policemen, we don't know who sides with the terrorist or who doesn't. How many of our soldiers have been fired upon by Iraqi soldiers and policemen? A lot more than what people think. How many of the convoys have been hit as they past an Iraqi checkpoint? It's time the military becomes strict, and quits bowing down to the opposition and the news media. It'll save lives in the long run. Best of luck to you.........

No, you are contridicting yourself. You talk about going door to door and confiscating weapons and ordinance then sealing off the country and killing militia members. This sounds exactly what Sadam himself did. He confiscated the weapons from people so they could not defend themselves against his army, sealed the borders, broke into people's houses and killed anyone who he thought was a threat to him. The only thing you will do is trade one dictator for another. Only difference is we would be the oppressors. You cannot force democracy or anything else down people's throat it causes them to rebel. It would be like a forgein country coming into America and try to disarm us, and throw our Constitution out the window to force some other type of government down our throats. Any American would be fighting against that. You would have the same thing in Iraq.

And when we finish in Iraq, we can move on to Iran, then North Korea, China etc, etc. That's a great idea, when do we start? How about we keep our noses out of other countries business? If they have the balls to invade us, then we can wipe them off the face of the map, not until. How do you tell a terrorist from a civilian, or do you just start killing everyone?

You are right. We need a lot more boots on the ground in Iraq. I think what scares Americans about Iraq is that they don't understand what's going on there. They need to start call the civil unrest gang warfare rather than terrorism.
Every one seems to think we can't beat terrorism when in reality it's no different than gang warfare, which we have fought and won in the past. To fight gangs in the streets, it take more police. Simple.

I agree and have said that if we aren't going to commit enough troops to SECURE then we might as well pull out completely.

Having the little number we have right now is killing our troops. We have to secure Iraq, hold up the walls until the country can hold it's own.

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.

It is the wrong approach indeed. What was hidden in its making has been shown to us. It is a wrong war, with wrong ideals.

We don't have a two million man army. What we need to do is get the Iraqi army trained to do that.

Very noble idea, young man, but we both know that's not the way it's gonna go down. Hang in there. Best of luck.
