I have not personally met one single person who complains about job outsourcing who drives an American car. Aren't those jobs important, too?

I work on a University campus, and most of the people who complain are college professors - it ain't the money.

Bottles, holy chit man - I didn't expect that from you, of all people....

And, for the record, we drive American trucks. I would have prefered a smaller vehicle, but we own a little farm, so we need it to haul equipment and critters.

anybody who complains about outsourcing of jobs shouldn't be driving a foreign car, because they cannot afford it. i don't mind the Indians doing customer service, as long as I'm being helped!

My first car was Japanese--1981 Datsun. We had plenty of jobs here. I'm not going to buy a disposable GM just so I can complain about outsourcing jobs. I bought Levi's loyally my whole life and they're in Mexico now and still charging top dollar for lesser quality. My car now is a Subaru. I buy Japanese cars because they run forever, look good and are fuel efficient. Don't blame me, blame the union.

With Hondas being made in New Jersey and Toyotas in Kentucky, you can't really call them "foreign" cars anymore.
For that matter, the "Big 3" brought it on themselves by purposely making inferior products that would require lots of repair and maintenance because they thought the American people would have no choice but to put up with it. With the reliability ratings and consumer approval ratings for cars readily available on the internet, go check out why people buy the "foreign" cars.

To answer your question: It's all about the money. People who have lost their jobs to outsourcing or had to downgrade their pay because of it, need to drive economical cars that don't require a lot of gas, repairs, or maintenance because they don't have much money.

There is no such thing as an average family car 100% made in the USA.......do your re-search, go to some new car dealerships, and read the manufactures percentage of foreign part, on your so called made in the USA cars...you will find most of the parts are made overseas, and the car assembled in the USA.....
WAS UP.....sounds like someone lied to you. Or you must drive a big gas sucking truck with most parts made overseas WAS UP

I just wish American Car company will build cars like 68 Camero or 69 Firebird again. Thinking about the hey day of the American car industry, the more complicate thing the worse things get.

Because alot of us dont understand or realize the problem until it hits home. Until it is our job being outsourced. We think "It cant happen to me" then bam - Chavez is doing your job down in Mexico.
And remember, its not just factory jobs being outsourced these days. I found that one out the hard way!

Unfortunately American cars are unreliable, unattractive, and made out of cheap parts by a union worker that has no sense in pride in his work.

Japanese cars look good, are very reliable, and made by people with pride in their work.
