is there a spot on your computer that you can read your ink properties.......how low you are in one specific color. what you need for an ink refill?

The software that you install with your printer will tell you. The ink monitor software is usually start-up with Window. You can also go Start,Printer & Faxes, right-click your printer and choose Properties or Printing Preferences. One of the tab will show you a graphical representation of all your ink cartridges. You can see how much ink left. Most printer software will also warns you when the ink is low when you're trying to print.

Unless you use separate cartridges for 3 colors, you wont get specific ink levels. You however should be able to see the ink levels of the color and black/photo cartridges in a software provided with the printer. In case of Dell, it is called Printer Solution Center.

your printer software will provide a estimate of where your ink levels are
and usually indictae when they need to be replaced (get warning thats inks low)

Right click on your printer icon on the task bar.Takes you to all you need.
