The number of incorrect answers is amazing! Assuming your * means 'times':
9(46*9)/43(8*23)
Brackets first:
9*414/43*184
Then multiply out the numerator and denominator:
3726/7912
Finally do the division:
0.4709 = 0.471 (3 sig. fig.)
You will notice that you don't have to mulitply the brackets first but could just work out 9*46*9 etc. That is known as associativity and multiplication is an associative operation. For example: 9(46*9) = (9*46) *9 = 9*46*9. However, it is a good idea to get in the habit of working out brackets first because, for example, 9(46+9) is not the same as 9*46 + 9. The first = 495 and the second = 423.

A = 46*9*9/23*43*8
A = 2*9*9/43*8
A = 9*9/43*4

First do what is in the parentheses
A = 9(46*9)/43(8*23)
A=9(414)/43(184)
then solve the problem in the order it is presented
A= 9*414/43*184
A=3726/43*184
A=86.65*184
A=15943.81
