I've been a Palm girl ever since I could spell PDA, however after my latest escapade with their TX (Terrible eXperience) I've decided that it might be about time to start looking elsewhere for a product. I'm either going to return my TX for refund, or get a replacement and sell it. No matter what, I'm going to need a new PDA. I'm going to do the research myself, but can you suggest somewhere to start? What are some companys that sell PDAs? I only know of Palm, Dell and HP. Any others I can look up and any information on good prices?

I don't want suggestions on which model to buy, because I want to do my own research. I just want to know what my options are!

(After three trips to the repair facility my TX won't hard reset and the screen needs recalibration for the stylus approximately once every 20-40 minutes of usage.)

check out http://www.jubed.com/pdas - tick the features you're after and the site returns models which have those features.

Sorry to hear about your TX experience. Don't write off Palm though. I have their T5 which is a step below the TX and have had little trouble with it. I have had to do quite a few hard resets but the PDA pretty much does what I need.

A friend of mine has the new Samsung Blackjack. Very neat, PDA and cellphone. But it's so new, it doesn't have a track record. He is also paying more for being the first to have one. When you do your research, try to avoid the new products and get something that has the kinks worked out. Maybe that is why my T5 is still meeting my needs.

Whenever I get something like this, I like to go to Amazon and read user reviews. I ignore those that gush with praise or call the item everything but the son of satan. Those could be sellers. I also ignore the Amazon review. It is usually just a press release from the company. With enough honest reviews at Amazon, you will begin to see patterns in a product's operations.

Hope this help. Again, please don't write off Palm. They have good stuff but just look for something with a track record.

Good luck.

Why don't you tell us what you need the PDA for, and what's wrong with the TX you don't like?
