I will tell you the truth, if you are looking for a fast exciting car get a nitro car or truck.(My first RC truck was a Traxxas T-Maxx. I now have 5 other cars and trucks as well as planes.) Electric cars are not much cheaper than nitro cars and are slower although they are pretty darn quick for something electric. Nitro cars do have a down side though because they are sometimes high maintenance and a little more expensive with fuel and parts. I think that both cars whether electric or nitro are great and which ever one you buy eventually I would buy the opposite type. EX> Buy an electric then later a nitro.

I hope this helped have fun with RC!!!

i dunno what these guys are talkin about. my electric tc3 can stomp my nitro GT. the worl record rc car is an electric if you are lookin for speed. to start out with, i would start electric... there are days i just dont wanna deal with the mess and finicky carburetor settings.... too much hassle man. electrics are just as fast if not faster but you dont have the sound or "cool factor" as a nitro vehicle. and also it depends on what you are usingit for... if you are just "bashing" a traxxas Emaxx would be good, but if you are gonna try and race it a Revo or some other monster truck like that would be good.so just go to your local hobby shop and se what is supported most, and what you will be using it for.
