I recently recieved a e-mail from a really close friend. It was a forward tha tyou fill out, ranking your friends in the provided categories. She only ranked me in the physical attributes section. Nothing about real friendship. She goes to me for everything, and we hang a lot together. I have to admit she is a pretty shallow person. Now, I'm concerned if I have overestimated our friendship. Has she been faking it all? I want to keep her as a friend, but I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if I really value our connection anymore, because it seems as if there is nothing important.

Nothing about real friendship. She goes to me for everything, and we hang a lot together. I have to admit she is a pretty shallow person. I've noticed she gets jealous of me very easily. Sometimes, she tries to bring me down in an attempt to boost herself. Now, I'm concerned if I have overestimated our friendship. Has she been faking it all? I'm sorry...it sounds like your feelings are hurt. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on those "questionnaire" things. They are really a bunch of hog wash and should not be taken literally. How does your friend treat you when you are together? Does she show respect? Value your opinion? You said that she "goes to me for everything" so if this is true she must hold alot of faith in you. Just be more mindful of your relationship and maybe talk with her about it if it would make you feel better! You also just may be a little more mature than her. Kind of sounds like it. GOOD LUCK!

Yowch, that's not a cool thing to do. Maybe she was trying to flatter you because of your looks?
To me it doesn't necessarily seem that she's faking your friendship, she just may not value you in the ways (attributes of good character) like you do her.
Although you say that she's shallow, it seems as if you enjoy her company since you hang out a lot. Is this mutual? Or is it because she wants to hang out?
I may be wrong, but as far as I can tell, you could find more valuable friends than her. Re-evaluate her friendship and how much it mean to you.
It seems like she is quite a close friend. You choose your friends...see if it should stay this way. It may help to have a little space between you two while you figure this out so that you can think.
Try to find a way to talk to her about the situation since it bothers you and may threaten/affect you and her's friendship.
GOOD LUCK. :)

Just talk to her. Ask her why she only ranked u in that one section. Be casual, try not to make a big deal out of it. She may have a valid reason for not filling out other sections. Don't throw away your friendship over a forward.

You cant value friendship over some silly email! Just go to her and talk! Thats the best way!

You should talk to her about it. It's tough to make a decision without checking out the facts. Don't lose a friend over a possibly misinterpreted e-mail.

ok.......so youre feeling like this over a stupid email?? look base your insecurities on your friends actions not her words. If your friend is there for you and she does the best she can to do that then thats all that matters. if she's just as cold as her email then keep her around for when ever YOU need her.
