Personally, I was 16.5 weeks and felt my first kicks with the help of my hand placed on my abdomen. I didn't get the "flutter" that people describe, mine were definite hard kicks! 3 in a row and the third one made me go "OW!" It was quite powerful and the feet were only tiny then. From about 17-18 weeks I started feeling the baby without the need to place my hands on my abdomen. I'm now 23 weeks and it flops around ALL the time and you can see my stomach move and twitch as bub does acrobatics. The best way to get started is to just place your hands on your abdomen as you lay in bed at night, close your eyes and just feel. You'll eventually get more in tune to what you're feeling. It's cool, you'll love it! Good luck!

I was 19 weeks when I first recognized the flutters as being the baby. But looking back I was probably feeling him about 3 weeks before that, I just didn't know that was him. I'm not sure how to describe those first flutters, except kinda like a butterfly in there.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I have never heard a woman describe feeling the first movement as another. What I felt nobody could have described really. I do think it was more of a bump here or there and then it got more frequent and that's when I realized that it was my baby moving. I thought each and every "flutter" or "gurgle" or "bump" was it but when I realized there was one going one more than the other and getting more frequently that's what it was. One things for certain, that first time you realize for sure that it is you baby moving the physical feeling is awesome but it is nothing compared to the wonderful emotions you feel!!

Fluttering is about how it felt to me. They when the baby gets bigger it starts to stick it's feet out from under your ribs and you get this big lump that kind of sits there for a time and then goes back in: that is funny.

Mine had hiccups all the time.

Im 18 weeks. I just started to feel my baby move. The best way I could describe it. Is like a little fish swimming inside you, and kinda bumping into your tummy walls lol.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but everyone is different. for me it feels like a popping in my tummy sometimes more than once. But I knew right away that it was the baby moving and not my tummy growling. congrats on your baby.

The first time my baby moved I FREAKED OUT! All of a sudden there was SOMETHING moving inside me and it WASN'T ME!!!!

I knew I was pregnant too. Took me a few weeks before I could honestly enjoy it. Seriously it felt like a hamster crawling inside me.

It differs from woman to woman, pregnancy to pregnancy. If you are a first time mom, then you will probably notice it later than a woman who has already had chilren. I noticed with my first one at around 20-22 weeks.

just depends on how much you feel your baby move at once it could be a lot or it could be once...you will know when you feel it maybe not right away but after a few times you will know

For me it felt like little bubbles popping in my tummy, just a few little bubbles at a time.
