I have been working for a family part-time and they want to hire me full-time (50 hrs per week). They asked me how much I would need to make to make the position desirable for me. I have been charging $13 per hour and they want a flat weekly rate. I have about 3 years nannying experience, about 6 years of experience working with children, and a bachelors degree in elementary education. Oh and there are 2 children.

Do you love your job, ie your responsibilities, I think you do or they wouldn't be asking you to stay on. Do the children and you click? You are worth more than affordable, but are you worth anything?
What about pension, sick leave and holidays ? All worth a decent wage.
BUT it is YOU with your qualities (greed is not acceptable on either side) (and your Loving the job) and your employer's ability to pay.
If you all click and love and trust each other then Mom and Dad know your worth and should pay double if they can afford.
It is not the $$$ it is the children, so why not ask them.
May God bless you all.

13x50=650.. so why don't you tell them you want 700 or 750 a week?
14x50=700
15x50=750

or more.. I think if you want to work full time maybe up your pay grade

let me just tell you this - if you are getting a flat rate.. they are going to be taking full advantage of that and you'll probably be working a lot more than the 50 hours.
So take advantage of that and up how much you are getting.

I pay mine 20 an hour. Think about it, this is your child and the gratitude stays in the Nanny's head and makes her patient with your kid! I'd say 25 an hour x 50 hours: $1250.00 Remeber you're educated and they want you!

I can tell you that in my small town, a tutor makes $18 per hour for one kid. .....Not sure if that gives you anything to compare to or not. I also think that the ages of the kids should be taken into consideration. Younger kids mean more work, for sure.
