I was wondering if it is possible to connect a router to a wireless AP. The computer with the wireless ap has broadband and the reason I want to connect the 2 computers. The router is a D-Link DI-524 and the AP is a Linksys WAP54G. I don't want to swap the 2 around if I can help it.

You can, but there's little reason to do that unless the other wireless device is a significant distance from the wireless router. If that's the case, just run an Ethernet line to where you want to place the WAP and plug it all in and go.

You should have basic connectivity out of the box but you'll need to configure it if you want to use advanced features such as encryption. You really need to set the WAP up to use a different channel than the router -- at least 3 channels higher or lower, the more the better. It's also a good idea to set them both to use the same SSID. That will make "roaming" in your home work seamlessly. See the docs for instructions on configuring it.

I am should work but if you are having problems with it you may want to cycle them once you are all set up. Do this by shutting off your computer, unplugging your modem and unplugging your access point and router.

Power the modem first, then the router, then the access point and finally your computer.
