Yeah, I feel bad sometimes... The way I see it, they have lives just like the rest of us.. Why is it ok to kill bugs, but when it's an animal it becomes bad....

But then I think about how massive their population is, and I figure... It's population control... We can't have an Earth over run with insects...

I never kill spiders though... They help us kill other insects

I have, I was once really sad to see what got into the roach motel (obviously a roach), and being depressed because there was no escape for the poor little creature. Since that moment I´ve been really considerate about any bug.
And, very recently, I learned through buddism that being nice to any living being is the way to go. And that killing an insect with just any degree of hatred could bring really bad consecuences, even if you have to kill to protect yourself!

I don't feel bad when I kill the insect but one time my sister cut off her wings & then started playing with it & I was so mad at her & till this day I still blame her for torturing that poor insect. So I guess killing a harmful insect mercifully is ok, but not to burn them or play while they die!!

Actually I do!
I like to think I know my bugs lol! In a heart beat the black widows are killed. The lady bugs and praying mantises are not killed but treated with respect around here..
Dung Beatles are let outside. Ants and other spiders we have a dog that he gets to do with these as he likes. Honey bee's are let outside, but yellow jackets are attacked by this same dog (honey bee's are usually killed by the yellow jackets). House flys are killed!
We do not have fleas here, and ticks are killed. So basically it depends on what kind of bug it is. Good bug treated with respect bad bugs killed....
I do feel bad when I see a praying mantis killed, or any good bug..

I try not to kill them. I catch spiders and put them outside. I don't like killing insects, but still I don't feel guilty when I do it.

YES..
especially if it is innocent and did not mean to be as scary looking or as "skin-irritating".. actually, i'm scared of flying insects.. but God created everything for a purpose.. whether we like it or not, they have a right to life and a role to play..

yah, but then again i hardly kill them, i just end up running away. But once when i had to it felt like i was taking the life away from something. i wonder if they are going to turn into a grudge and get me later on.... or something like that.
