i have been married now for 5 years. i love my husband very much
however i am a dialysis patient ,i have been on and off for about 16
years now. anyway, i get alot of attention from this one guy who is
my nurse. we talk all the time during my treatments. we have alot in common. he is married also, i think happily, he has kids, which
i envy because i can't. we like the same movies. etc.
my husband met him and his wife once, my husband knows we talk during my treatments and has no problem with this.
my thing is the people i seem to click with the most are males for
some reason. i can't tell if he is just being nice or if he would
really be interested in being friends and maybe getting to know his
wife etc. at times i think his wife doesn't know much about me at aall ,my husband knows alot about him
do you people think i am nuts for feeling this way?

Sure couples can be friends and married people can be limited friends with the opposite sex but what caught my eye is that you already have a nurse/patient relationship. You could be crossing a line by seeing each other outside the dialysis unit.
Dialysis is a unique situation because it is a chronic disease and your number one priority should be to get a good dialysis treatment when you're at the center. Having a nurse you like and get along with must make the time go by faster and I am sure make you feel better about spending hour after hour at the center three days a week. That is allot, maybe it should be enough.

I think it's ok to be friends with anyone. I would just make sure that you and him both want a friendship and NOT a relationship(affair). Also being honest with your husband is the right thing to do. He may say he doesn't mind, but eventually I believe it may make him jelous and suspicious because in the back of his mind he may think you are cheating on him. Also,9 times out of 10 the girl will eventually start to like her guy friend more than she thought should would.(human nature)..be carefull!!! GOOD LUCK

You're not nuts. Everyone needs friends. Especailly when they are down. I think being friends with men is ok as long as your husband is ok with it. (You also may want to include your husband in the friendship and your friend's wife as well so they know there is nothing going on and so at home its something you and your husband can share and talk about.)

I have more male friends than female friends. I wouldn't change that for anything. A friendship with a guy just seems more real to me. I'm more comfortable around men. Chicks have too many issues. By the way, I'd never even consider one or any of my male friends to become more than just platonic friends.

Well, in those situations people tend to be nice with you and nothing more. Don't let your emotions run wild. You have a husband and wishing for things that you can't have or not going to help you any. Just enjoy his conversation when you see him and leave it at that. No, I don't think you're nuts.

It is definately ok to be friends with guys!
Before you jump into a friendship, though, talk with your husband. Make sure that he is comfortable with the situation, or it'll be more trouble than it's worth!

It is definitely possible, just as long as it stays friends and you are open with your husband about the friendship.

I think if you talk with your husband about it and he is understanding that should be ok. Maybe see about doing things with him and his wife.
