If you cant wait for the zinc coating to oxidise use a mordant solution to prepare the galv first.

Cleaning galvanized steel with vinegar is a good way to prep it for painting. I have done this for painting sheet metal panels. I believe it removes the oil that is present in galvanized.

yeah u can but u cant put zine onto the steel with no galvanished cover/ also try this firist on a small sheet of galvanised steel.
