This answer will have to be two parts, as the question is.
First, yes of course Santa Claus is real!
Secondly, the presents. . .this really depends on several things, who you are, what you believe, where you live, your parents, how old you are, et cetera.
For a few, Santa will be the whole process. His workshop will make the gifts, wrap them, and deliver them on Christmas Eve or early Christmas Day.
For some, parents or guardians will purchase the presents, and then Santa will wrap and put them under the tree. This is good for children who want something very specific or something that can not be made by elves.
For others, Santa (or an elf) will make the presents and then send them to the parents or guardians (usually at work) for them to wrap and place under the tree. This is useful for children who live in hard-to-get-to (or hard-to-land) places, or children without chimneys. (Although it is important to note that Santa does deliver to places without chimneys, it is just more time-consuming). This process (of Santa making, parents "delivering") also works well for parents who want to eat the cookies set out for Santa and for children who celebrate Christmas on a different day.
There are some children and grown-ups who choose not to have Santa in their lives. There are various reasons for this, but when this happens, Santa will respectfully honor their wishes. In these cases, family and friends usually take care of getting and giving the gifts. Most grown-ups are under this process. Unfortunately, when you are off Santa's list, you can never go back. Although this may seem sad to have Santa not involved in Christmas, it gives Santa time to concentrate on younger children and any new babies that have entered the world.
Have a Merry Christmas!

My cousin tells his five year old that "Daddy got to pay Santa Claus if you're good to deliver your gifts, but if you're bad than daddy don't have to pay Santa because he is doing it as a courtesy for good kids only."

I think Jesus gave me my gifts through out my life through my parents. You know use them as tools of doing good. I know that Santa Clause is not alive any more. He use to be a german that went about giving gifts. That's what i think.
