You can crossbreed a tiger and a lion to make a tigon, too (the names depend on which animal is the mother or father. No, I don't know which.)
You can crossbreed some dogs and wolves to make wolf hybrids. I don't know if you can crossbreed dogs and say, coyotes or foxes. Maybe coyotes. You can crossbreed some wild pheasant-type birds (like some kind of "jungle bird"--forget from where. Like, Borneo or something) to get chickens, or breed chickens with the wild birds.
There aren't a ton of animals you can crossbreed. And most of the offspring are sterile. It's a lot easier with plants.

Any animals or birds that crossbreed have to be closely related. You can cross a horse with a donkey, but you cant cross a horse with a cow. Crossbreeds or hybrids, occur when an animal can't find its own kind to breed with. They will prefer their own species over an animal of another species, even if that animal is incredibly good looking. ;-)
