lotsa singing and dancing - NOTHING like your typical Hollwood fare... you could probably count all the Hollywood song and dance movies of the last 25 years on one hand!
"Bollywood" is merely what we would call a "pun", a clever play on words namely because the Indian movie industry is concentrated in Bombay, much like they call Vancouver Canada "Hollywood North"..
in fact they make MORE movies than Hollywood..
I don't really see India "copying" America..

Bollywood is completely unoriginal as far as I'm concerned. I'm Indian and I've seen my share of Bollywood and Hollywood. Bollywood for the most part takes bits and pieces of script from different Hollywood movies, literally copies the shots and direction off of Hollywood movies, and then to claim originality throws in a bit of song and dance here and there.
Granted, you'll come across an original film once and a while, but for the most part you've got Hollywood recycled and spat back out in a worse form of the movie.

India doesn't copy America....they are influenced by some of our ways. Just like any other country.....they influence eachother.
PS: Bollywood makes far more movies than hollywood and actually I love them...I love the songs and dances and the whole scene.

indian people believe their culture is not too strong to be in this world so they copy America. But if u ask me indian culture is really cool. I mean all the festivals and everythng...And if ur talking abt bollywood and hollywood then i agree tht Indians shouldn't copy other people. I mean they HAVE ideas and some really cool ones but they are not sure of them. I hate to think about it.......
