I posted a similiar question yesterday but i'll ask it again. In the high 90s percentage of the rap coming out today is dreadful i know. However before that there were many talented artists with a REAL message in their lyrics and proper beats. I mean seriously, you can't listen to the classics and not at least respect them, rap was certainly a valid genre back then. Its because of all these clowns out now that its been given such a bad name. Well i think it is at the height of ignorance to say a whole genre sucks because you've heard one song that sucks. But these people today are ruining rap and making it look like a joke. Rap didn't always talk about hos, money and bling bling, it used to discuss many things (Political/personal issues, real life ghetto situations) Remember silly answers such as "who wants to hear about beating women and how much money you've got" will be laughed at. Tell me what you think.

Really? I haven't heard any rap music except what's popular today, and it's bad enough to make me want to shoot the "singers" through the lungs.

well u have to also keep in mind that obout 1/3 of hip hop fans dnt even know where rap started these are the fans who let mtv and radio stations determine what is good rap around 97 hip hop went from broke to rich this is where the "bling" rap came in. artists started braggn about their riches when the average hip hopper is still in the ghetto tryn to make ends meet. b4 the rap being put out was about things that we "the consumer" could relate to, now its all about the money cars bling we cannot relate i dnt know any hip hop fan who has a lamborgini....do you? although most hip hop that is out there playn on the stations and tv is garbage we as fans have to turn off the stations if their going to continue to play all the junk. most state have college radio that plays hip hop they tend to play more of a underground type and local artists which is comforting to my ears. hip hop is not dead- radio hip hop is. the bling stage will too pass we just have to cross our fingers and hope its more sooner than later

I do not think you are listening to all rap music. I personally love rap music, and all the songs do not talk about bling bling and hoes. Many of them talk about real life. Look at ludacris's new song Runaway love. Chams song Ghetto Story. You shoudl re look at rap.

Oh my gosh you are so right I feel the same way. Why would you want to listen to stuff you can hardly understand and what you do understand is always has cuss words and junk in it. People need to sing about things that are important because no matter where you go there is always music! You are so right!
