1.) 1 would most likely be D for afte rthe F/I War the British seeing the convenience of having American soldiers in their army, sought out this advantage. It def. would not be B, for after the war, the BRitish closed off the west of the Appalacian Moutnains to the colonists in the Proclamation Act of 1763, enraging the colonists.

2. Would be C or D. They believed that for all the deeds they were doing for colonists, it was only fair for colonists to have to pay taxes. Also, they believed that colonists were being represented in Parliament through "virtual representation". D because the British were trying to appease the French through land grants to prevent another upheaaval.

3 - Militias in the Continental Army:
D – generally did not impress Washington as fighting force.
The answer would be D for the militia in the COntinental army basically were ill trained and not prepared very well. Washington was not very impressed and knew they would def. need trained. Their increase in fighting ability should also be accredited to Baron Von Steuben a Prussian man who basically whipped the soldiers into shape at Valley Forge. Although the soldiers were ill trained though they did have heart and a motive, to defend their home land so that provided extra initiative. However, when Washington first encountered them he was definitely not impressed.

4 – The French decided to help the Americans because :
B – they had shown that they could beat the British in several battles.
Both B and C are correct. Before the French would become an ally with the colonists in the Revolutionary War, they had to prove themselves. The French were impressed with both the Battles of Trenton and Princeton. However, the turning point and the battle that would completely assure the French would be the battle of Saratoga.
