You might think about different mic's for studio use as opposed to stage use_time to buy a new mic when you take your band on the road?? or when you take your band into the studio??

I agree with "crawler", the '58 is a good, durable, hard working Mike, the electo-voices are also good for the price, I've used both, when you have trouble getting the clarity out of the sound of the voice, that you want, that's when you go to another or a better mike!!

If your asking chances are real good you need a new one. Try the Sure Sm 58 or for something less durable but more expensive try Electro Voice they make a great mic.

when sound cuts in and out. it'll probably be about 3-4 years old.
