Heck Beatles is a good place to start. Almost everyone's gonna know what you are playing, easy for females to sing, and if you do a good job people will respect you.

Do not play a punk rock song without a supporting band. If you mean fake punk rock like "Green Day" then no, don't play that. You have no idea how many people hate music like that.

If you're talking about real punk rock like the Ramones, well, then what I said before. You'd need a band for that.

Also, since it's laid back, nothing too loud. Just any classics and hits you can pull off with a single guitar and a female voice, and that are not too loud.
Good luck!

If you don’t already have songs chosen and rehearsed, it’s a good thing it’s just an open mic night. Are you sure you want to play new songs your not familiar with?

The songs you play should depend on who will be in the audience your playing for

Brown Eyed Girl. Only you can sing it as Brown Eyed Boy. It's one of the most often requested songs and you can get people to sing along on the sha-la-la parts. (and it's easy to play, but you can jazz it up if you like)

solo act? or jam session? If solo, do the hardest thing you know how to play. If jamming, just ask what key it's in....
