His season stats are: 62 receptions, 1007 yards, 7 TDs, 15 20+yd receptions, 4 40+yd receptions, with a long of 83 yards, 6 rushes, 120 yards(the only 100 yard rushing WR), 1 TD, 2 20+yd carries, with a long of 72 yards, I think he should have gone instead of Andre Johnson the WR for the Houston Texans

Yes, Javon Walker is a better reciever by any measurement. By conventional stats, like the ones cited above, I'd say Johnson's 35 extra receptions demonstrate his flaws, not his strengths. Walkers superior yards/catch (YPC) is important. Walker catches 55% of balls thrown his way, and while Johnson catches 64% of passes, the 9% difference is small when you consider the YPC.

According to the more advanced stats kept by footballoutsiders.com, Andre Johnson is only 1.9% above a league average WR on a per-play basis. Javon Walker is more than 13% better, in fact, Walker is the 11th best WR in the NFL. (For reference, the best reciever this year is Reggie Wayne, at a whopping 35% above average. Second place is Joe Horn, at 31% above average, but he has less overall value since he's been hurt.)

No question: Walker should be in the pro bowl instead of Andre Johnson

He has good numbers and he certainly wouldnt be a bad choice for the Pro Bowl, but he does not deserve to go over Andre Johnson. Look at his numbers compared to Walkers (walkers numbers in parentheses for comparison)...

Receptions: 97 (62)
Receiving Yards: 1,087 (1,007)
Touchdowns: 5 (7)
Rec. of 20+ yards: 15 (15)
Rec. of 40+ yards: 3 (4)

Their numbers are very similar except that Johnson has 35 more receptions and has been the only consistent go-to on that team. Walker has the benefit of a good running game and a good receiver on the other side (Rod Smith), to prevent double teams. Andre Johnson deserves more than Walker. Walker can settle for comback player of the year (although Johnson might also be up for that title as well).

nicely with a youthful QB Ja Marcus Russel and an superb RB Justin Vargas (1002 yds rushing and did no longer even initiate the entire season) with the addition of there 4th p.c.. interior the draft (Daren McFadden?) it facilitates to have a veteran on your line up like Javon Walker however the question is will he stay healthful, a healthful javon can help any team in choose of a few management interior the huge receiver place.

I do belive he had a better season than Andre but some people don't look at stats when they vote for pro bowl (which is stupid) so many good players were left out such as trevor pryce, s. jones, kerry rhodes, chales woodson, etc.
