When I boot up my computer, it goes through the normal motions and gets as far as the windows Xp screen and sits there with the green light scrolling from side to side. It stays like this for at least 3-4 minutes and then an error message appears,"Isass.exe" "Oxc0000006" "click ok to terminate the application". Does anybody have any idea how to solve my dilemma.I have also tried starting in safe mode but the same error appears. I have also tried to boot up with the internet disconnected. Still no go. I assume this is a virus but am un certain as to the correctional procedure.

I have dealt with the same problem. The way I got it to work was by sticking in the WinXP disk and re-installing the OS.

If you have your system recovery disc, stick that into the cd drive, and when the system starts up,keep pressing the letter 'r' which is actually a system recovery option.A screen will appear asking you what type of recovery u want to do.Click destructive,I swear it isnt what it sounds like,it will actually reformat your hard drive back to factory settings. The only downfall, you lose all your saved programs, downloaded programs, and all personal data saved, but yiou get your pc back new all over again.Hope this helped.

Obviously it's working or you would not be asking your question right now, unless you have 2 computers and a router
