What I have learned is treat everyone as if they do have a genuine problem.
If they are lying and makes a fool out of you, this is a problem they need to deal with.
If they really do have a genuine problem hopefully you have helped them in some way. There are a lot of bad people out there that need to be weeded through. If one gets hard to this fact then the real people, with real problems get over looked.
My thoughts....

On here as in real life it is very difficult to sort the actors from the victims, on here it is a little harder because you have no visual contact and because you have never met in person. On the other hand, even if you meet the person in question, you will never know the whole truth, because people tell lies for their own gains and there are so many brazen and hard-faced people like this in the world, thus, consequently on here too!
The best policy is that of honesty, as white lies, lies in general and other fraudulent details will always be found out. If someone has genuine problems then THEY are the idiots for not talking to a qualified Doctor or Psychotherapist. That is what they are there for.
Being ashamed is only a cover-up for their problems, but it is a start in the right direction. Everyone can make mistakes in life, and everyone does, it is admitting it/them and then doing something about it/them, that presents the biggest problem for most people!
I believe that what goes up, comes down and that each and every person in this world will get their invoice for their past actions and/or misdemeanours!
I think a way of telling if someone hides something or not is to always look into their eyes whilst conversing. I do this out of habit and become a little bit apprehensive when not looked into my eyes during a conversation. If someone cannot look at you, then something is wrong. Trust your instincts and look forward, we have enough problems in today's day and age to be bothered with other people's petty issues and greed!
The best of luck to you!

First the Question should not be removed,But In Yahoo you never Know what will happen.
A person with problems sometimes does not know they have problems Or they know and dont know how to get help for there problems,It Is hard for someone to admit there Is something wrong with themself,It could be depression,Bi-polar with manic episodes and many many others.
You sound concerned and the best thing you can do Is tell them and encourage them to get help In a respectfull way but they may not want to hear It and sometimes this takes time and you planted a seed and you let them know you are concerned wich Is trully a blessing as Is your Question,You Are a Good person

OK see?Now I got a headache!
Most idiots have problems and some people with problems are idiots. In fact some people's problem is that they are idiots!
So who's on first?
Actually it's six of one ,one half of the other.
My advice is:no matter what you see on sitcoms, don't get involved with idiots or anyone who acts like an idiot

maybe the question will get removed by the person u are on about sweetheart, and if it does then there's your answer. If you have to ask the question then maybe they are not the sort of person you want to be dealing with. Be careful

Pretending is very in, and many want to pretend to gain sympathy and so one does not know whether it is genuine or fake. it is quite difficult. However the heart tells you more.

only time can tell. u got to look @ how they make decisions for themselves. my brother who has a genuine mental problems . he goes to bars and buys all his friends and strangers drinks, and especially woman. but when one of his kids asks for $2, he has this issue with it. thats what i mean about making decisions. a person with a mental problems won't always make good decisions. they do things that puzzle people.

usually, idiots have a problem that they are ashamed of and they try to hide it like this. it's a stupid way, but that's why they are idiots.
