I can think of two:
1. A device that determines whether or not a person is a virgin. I can think of numerous times in which one of these devices would've came in handy!
2. A time machine.

a device that harnessed the aether resulting in infinite energy. (within our reach but it will take much reseach before, you have a experment that doesnt end in the "philidelphia experment" and besides big oil companys are suppressing it: for example: a lead reaseacher on "free" energy just up and died because he was poisened, but ill shut-up now)
