Among Orthodox Christians, the historical Saint Nicholas is remembered and revered. Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, merchants, archers, children, and students in Greece, Russia, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro. He is also the patron saint of Barranquilla (Colombia), Bari (Italy) Amsterdam (Netherlands), and of Beit Jala in the West Bank of Palestine."

Originally based on the Dutch legend of Sinter Klaus (you could look it up).
St. Nicholas (a supposed source) didn't bring presents to children in his lifetime. He supposedly appeared in visions to assist children.
The version of Santa Claus as the U.S. knows him was created by an artist for a Coca-Cola commercial in the 30s.

I don't know who made up santa but, I think that it was a great idea, because it give littke ones something to look foward to. Also christmas is also about Christ, not just santa.

i heard that Santa Clause was real.he was an ordinary person just like me and you.Except,he did not have any flying reigndeers(were not real)and a sleigh.He usually travelled by plane.I heard
he died in a plane accident.

he was once a real man named saint Nick. he gave toys to poor kids. His outfit was green. Coka Cola formed him into the guy we know today. Little kids just like getting presents.

He's real, brings all the presents every year and I've seen him at the stores talking to the kids and handing out gifts.

i dont know who made it up but can you really not understand why kids love him? for heavens sake, he brings gifts all around the world to good little boys and girls. he is like the spirit of goodness and kindness and giving for them! what kid WOULDNT love someone like that?
