my "friend christina" had a baby on friday 3 months early and lost it about 4 hours later.she left the hospital later that night. one of her friends found out and said "you cant have a baby that soon and they would have done some tests to see why..im tired of all this..and if u were 6 months u would have looked like a watermelon". christina explained that she was only 13 and wasnt going to show very much. how do christina and i explain to her friend that she did have the baby and she didnt have to look like a watermelon to be 6 months pregnant. also what could have happened to make christina have the baby early?

She doesnt have to explain anything to this "friend". They wouldnt have done tests at the hospital and they wouldve let the mother leave that same night. Anything couldve cause her to lose the baby: her age, lifestyle, lack of prental care etc. Your job is to be there for your friend and tell her not to be bothered by what this other person is saying. If they cant be supportive than the arent a friend anyways. My sympathies to your friend. I would never say this to someone who lost a child but somthings happen for a reason. Hopefully your friend will learn from this and be more careful and use protection if she continues to have sex. Take Care honey.

I am sorry to hear about your friend. She is just a child herself. Lots of things could have gone wrong. She did not have to look like a watermelon my daughter at 5 mo had gained 11/2 lb her 6th mo she gained 5 lbs so in all she gained 61/2 lbs she did not look like a watermelon everyone is different. The other person is not really a friend if she said those things. She should have been there giving her support to her. Good luck I hope your friend is doing ok now

Well first of all why did the doctor say she had the baby early. Why didn't they give her meds to stop her labor.

And you don't usually get big like a watermelon until the last two months...not six months.

And you shouldn't have to explain anything to this girl...if she was a freind she wouldn't be questioning this she would be supporting the girl . I mean if she just lost a child don't be worried about explaining yourself. Even if you are young, get it together and learn that it isn't any of the girls business and if she isn't there for support she isn't a freind.

It is always a tragedy when a baby dies. First of all, that is not a friend who is saying these things. Second of all, your friend probably lost her baby because she is a baby herself and teenagers have much higher risks of complications with the baby. What do your friend's parents think about all of this?

well this is a hard and harsh subject. It was a primi baby.. so mabe he/her lungs werent fully developed.. Also you dont have to look like a watermelon.. size varies on the amount of food you intake and/or genetics..
good luck with this one! =]

Tell the other friends to BUTT OUT as it is none of their business and move on. If they bring it up then change the subject or leave.
