Yes there is. Any CDMA dual band phone will work provided it's not locked. Providers like Sprint PCS and Virgin Mobile have what's called a MSL on their phone. Unless the person who is selling on of their phones knows this code or has changed the code to all 0's you won't be able to activate it on Verizon. Verizon has over the air programming which will update the PRL list in a foreign phone to match Verizon's list.

Verizon will activate foreign phones, Sprint PCS will not. If your service is through Verizon then just find any unlocked CDMA phone, like from Alltel or whatever. Note that using a phone from another provider could mean that features like picture messaging and web browsing won't work without configuration done on your part. Verizon may not know how to configure those settings depending on if they sell the same phone or not, or they may not be willing to. Just something to consider!

nope. there is a code that is associated with your phone that identifies your phone with the network and your account. When a phone is manufactured, the ESN is entered into Verizon's database ONLY IF it is a phone that is going to end up being sold by Verizon. These ESNs are on the white list. Therefore lets say you buy a Motorola RAZR V3m that is from Sprint. Even thought Verizon sells the same model, since it was sold by Sprint, Verizon won't and cant activate it.

To solve your problem, buy a VERIZON phone on Ebay or buy a new phone at full retail from a Verizon store.

No this will not work for Verizon. We can not activate a phone that is not a verizon phone because other companies phone software is not compatible with verizons. They're completely different, so it just will not work.

Check with the phone company that you want to activate the phone through. If it's compatible with their system then you can do it.

You can try, but I had to be on my network to activate, then I could roam on other networks.
