Is going to a department store and getting my face done free? By that I mean, if I want to get a foundation, is it possible to go to the MAC section and actually TRY ON the makeup for free? Would I have to buy it if did match my skin? Any answers are fine, thanx!

P.S. How old do you think some1 has to be to wear foundation? (type something like "over 23" or "not under 11")
;)

If you get a free makeover at a department store counter, you are not obligated to buy anything... but it is generally expected. That said, you don't actually have to get your face done to find out how any particular foundation will look on you. Lots of companies give out small free samples that you could use to determine what you want to really buy.

I think the age thing isn't a simple as saying "over (or under) X age", because there are different kinds of foundation. If we're talking just a tinted moisterizer, I think that kind of thing is appropriate for everyone teen-aged & up. But if we're talking full-on thick liquid, with powder on top, well... that's better left to old ladies and actresses.

You can wear bronze but maybe try a light shade of it. You have a warm skin tone which means you can wear any color that has warm tones in it: red, coral, orange, yellow, brown, copper, bronze, ivory and olive. Colors you'll want to avoid would be anything with cool tones in the: Fuchsia, pink, jade green, blue, indigo, violet, purple, black, gray and white. These will not match your skin tone and they will wash you out. Since you have light blue eyes, fair-light skin and light hair (I'm assuming that's natural), you'll want to stick to light shades of warm colors. You can do an ivory or light gold shadow for the inner corners of your eyes, and then a slightly darker shade light gold or light bronze over the rest of your eye lid, not too much though. And top it off with brown mascara. Or even just wearing mascara, you really don't have a face that needs make up.

That is a good idea of going to the cosmetic section in the dept store for a free make over and they will apply the shades that are appropriate for your skin color. when you are satisfied with the outcome buy those shades they have suggested and have applied to your face that which enhances your features. By the way you do not have to buy everything at one time.

i would definitely go to MAC. i go there all the time. the people there have the best advice. DO NOT GO TO A DEPARTMENT STORE! those people usually have the worst advice unless it's not a jc penney dillards type of department store. and i think nothing under 16 should wear foundation, but it depends on how your face is...

i hope this helps !

of course you can! why dont you try going to your fave department store and speak to some of the people at the makeup counter? they will be glad to help you! just explain to them your situation.

I think maybe when you are around 14 you should start to wear makeup. but not to much. you can at 13 too but just wear lip gloss and mascara.
