Question Details:okay so i was in puerto rico over summer- felt stinging sensation on penis and noticed some flat white spots- pain subsided in a 2-3 days. last sexual contact was protected and 2 months prior- got back to states and had herpeselct test- + for HSV1 negative for HSV2. flat slightly raised lesions continued, discomfort, went to urologist, he noticed band of irregular skin, said it was fungal,(lichen something) prescribed anti-fungal, some improvement but still more or less constant irritation- went back to urologist, said it was irritation (masturbation), told me to use moistureizer. concern: 1 month ago had brief unprotected genital apposition- 2 weeks later had brief irritating unprotected sex with virgin (felt like it so i believe her) 2 weeks after this intense burning in same area (just under foreskin), same constant flat opaque whitish lesion but this time with a red raw sore skin in close proximity... this has been going on for 2 weeks now -no blisters- std? fungus? trauma? help!!

so is this related to the hsv-1 i tested positive for this summer? if it is from my recent exposures, its my understanding that primary herpes presents with multiple bilateral lesions- not an isolated one- and wouldnt an outbreak resolve in 2.5 weeks? there has been no evolution of these marks

You really need to consult your doctor who is qualified, trained, and licensed to give you medical advice. People on this site are not, and your problem is serious enough for you to consult a trained physician!! Good luck!!

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.

Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

The #1 Herpes Cure Program?

Maybe, maybe not. The most typical thing about herpes is its tendency not to be typical. A typical outbreak for most people is, frankly, not even noticable -- most people (the majority, 70some percent) don't even know they have it.

Is THIS herpes? Maybe, maybe not. Only a PCR would tell for sure -- or if you ever develop an open sore have it cultured and type-tested.

If it responds to an anti-fungal though then it's fungal.

1.)If your doctor can't figure it out, I don't think someone here will be able to. Maybe try going to a different doctor.
2.) Why would you continue to have sex with people when you don't knlow what's wrong with your penis? That's unbelievable selfish.

You don't know what it is so you thought that you would expose the virgin to it? You are incredibly selfish, I hope it rots and falls off.
