Are you talking about Google Search or Google toolbar?

Lets tell you about both:

Google Search :

If you are using internet explorer go to tools>>>properties or options which ever is under tools. Then click contents tab and find Autocomplete , next to teh autocomplete click setting , delete autocomplete history and uncheck the boxes where it says use autocomplete for "forms" . if you uncheck it and delete existing autocomplete form history , google or no search engine will ever save your searches.

Google toolbar:

To clear your search history from the drop-down text box in Google Toolbar 3.0:

1. Click on the Google logo to access the drop-down menu.
2. Select the "Clear Search History" option. This will clear all the previous searches from the drop-down box.

If you'd like to completely disable your Toolbar's search history in Internet Explorer, please click on the "Options" button directly on your Toolbar and un-check the box next to "Drop-down search history."

If you have Google Toolbar 4.0 installed, you can clear your Toolbar's search history by clicking the arrow button to the right of the search box. When your drop-down search history appears, simply click the "Clear History" link.

If you'd like to completely disable your search history in Toolbar 4.0, please follow these steps:

1. Click the "Settings" button on your Toolbar.
2. Select "Options" from the drop-down menu.
3. From the "Features" tab, click the "Search Box Settings" button.
4. Un-check the box next to "Suggest from your own search history."
5. Click "OK."

if you are using internet explorer, find internet options and slick erase cookies and then erase temporary internet files. On some versions of this program you can make it so it only saves them until you close the program. that is one of the best ways to keep people from finding out what you have been searching. This is good for hackers, when your shopping for a present, or for porn freaks

While you can delete the information from your machine, you cannot prevent Google from saving that information. Google saves EVERYTHING that is ever written to or queried on their systems. They keep this forever and mine it for nuggets of information that might be useful. It's one of their "core competencies."
