Just visit:
http://www.ca-msp.org/
or
http://www.msf-usa.org/
and click "find a rider course"

OR

Contact your local Junior/Community college and request information about Motorcycle training/safety classes.

Make sure to sign up for the class that includes riding the bike, the helmet, and field instruction. Most classes will include earning you permit to ride, leaving only the written to take with DMV

In California, you will need both a Class C drivers license and earn the motorcycle endorsement (M1) to legally ride motorcycles.

I took the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course run through the CHP and the class was excellent !

YES!!! Call your local community colleges. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation has many of these types of courses there. I took mine at a local community college and they provided the bikes, too. Its usually only a couple of days long, but you get a real good idea of the basics of motorcycle handling. After the class though, I'd recommend taking the skills you learn and riding with someone more experienced until you feel truly comfortable as learning how to safely and effectively operate motorcycle takes time and experience!

after u take and pass the msf course, be advised that the first 6 months to a year statistically is the most deadly time for rookie riders. there's a few video's out that talks about the same things the msf course will cover, but u can also stop and rewind them if u want. go to http://www.ridelikeapro.com
anyone can keep a bike up at 60 mph. keeping the same bike up while doing turns at 5 mph or slower requires some finesse, and u'll always run into an extremely low speed situation; primarily in parking lots.
never try to learn from some1 that isnt qualified. its much easier to avoid a bad habit than it is to unlearn it. u will hear a phrase said repeatedly....ride ur own ride. in a nutshell, it means to ride at ur own pace, at ur own comfort level. is the best way to keep from becoming the giant strip of sandpaper's next victim.

Take a MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) motorcycle training course. They provide bikes, helmets and teach the correct way to ride. Don't learn from a friend or a friend of a friend because you'll pick up all their bad habits.

I live in Los Angeles and I will absolutely not teach you.
For this, you need professionals who are properly equipped. Take the motorcycle foundation safety course.
You will learn on a small (probably 250cc) motorcycle. When you are through, you'll be a motorcycle rider!

Definately take the MSF course.

Its always better to learn from someone who is trained to teach others. I took this class with my girlfriend who had never been on a bike before the class. She did fine and has never had a problem in her one year of riding. We're in Orange County as well.
