Everyone likes gift certificates--to restaurants, the mall, movies or coffee shops. A small selection of high quality chocolate, like Lindt or Godiva, would probably also be appreciated.

As a teacher, I most enjoyed the gifts that were thought of/made by the students. Homemade goodies are always good (especially because we have families that help us eat them). School supplies work as well especially if those items are used frequently in the classroom, ie. whiteboard markers, pencils, sticky notes, etc.

Any small gift is enough for a teacher to feel warm and appreciated. This time of year Target always has gifty items under $25. Gift certificates are always good too.

It would also be nice for your daughters to make something meaningful for/about their teachers. They could do drawings, poems etc.

An inexpensive scarf (winter scarf or something dressy), a gift card to a book store, department store, etc., Box of candy. Bake them cookies if you like. If they don't eat cookies they can always "re-gift". But as long as they accept you gift, you're off the hook for them...

Well, I give my teachers gift cards for subway, stores, educational stores, etc. I also like to get them antibacterial soaps from Bath and Body or similar.
