I do, too, 'cause I like cold water. I need to take a water bottle with me everywhere I go.

And it's a total waste of money and plastic not to reuse your water bottles.

Here's a bit of info on the safety of reusing water bottles; it is completely fine and safe. Companies that manufacture bottled beverages sometimes actually print "Do Not Reuse" or "Refill Only With ____" on their containers. Do you know why? So we'll buy more of their product. A quote from plasticsinfo.org:

"Will a plastic bottle leach harmful substances into water if I reuse it?

Most convenience-size beverage bottles sold in the U.S. are made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The FDA has determined that PET meets standards for food-contact materials established by federal regulations and therefore permits the use of PET in food and beverage packaging for both single use and repeated use. FDA has evaluated test data that simulate long-term storage and that support repeated use.

The toxicological properties of PET and any compounds that might migrate under test conditions have also been well studied. The results of these tests demonstrate that PET is safe for its intended uses."

Um, first of all, dioxins do not leak out of plastics, though dioxin is an entirely man-made chemical. The most common sources of dioxin poisoning are Agent Orange and the burning of trash (the burning, not reusing, of plastics and bleached items). So the picture of the Ukrainian president's disfigured face adds nothing logical to the argument.

I have well water that has no chlorine or other chemical additives that is actually better than bottled water bought in the stores. I keep several in my freezer filled 3/4 full and I just add fresh tap water to fill the rest of the way. As the ice melts I have fresh Ice water for hours. If I am going to be in town shopping for any period of time I take 1 or 2 extra with me so I dson't have to buy a bottle of water. I haven't drank anything but well water for many years.

Sheriff Liz is right, don't re-use plastic bottles to many time the coating of the plastic starts to ware off and releases toxins into the water which in turn will make you sick. I saying that I do have 2 glass bottles of tap water in my fridge, I like my water extra cold.

I have a water filter and I read a book the Makers Diet and this book helped me not to keep filling the plastic water bottles,I use the bottle three times tops and then I recycle It. If you use glass then that Is ok. I forget the reason why but the book has helped many people and he Is seen on tv a lot and tells his story about his heath and what helped him and he gives reasons why.

I hope this helps you and others too, thanks for your Question

using plastic bottles over long periods of time encourage an extremely dangerous chemical in the plastic called dioxin to leach into the water. it is a secret killer. it is therefore very unsafe to keep using plastic bottles for a long time. i suggest u try glass bottles instead. they dont have any health risks.

The President of Ukraine, Yushchenko, suffered from dioxin poisoning. He has a disfigured face now. You can see a pic of him here >> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yushchenko
