Yes, we always have the windows wide open, so it won't start all the noise.

Only when I use the oven. That's why I never use my oven. Even when I'm frying something and it produces way too much smoke it'd go off. My stove is right next to my huge kitchen window so I'd open the window and turn the fan on so the smoke would go out the window and that darn thing wouldn't go off. The only downside is, it's extremely cold when winter comes so I have to kind of bundle up when I cook. Sadly, winter has come. =(

Mine does too.
Nothing more irritating than stopping when you're in the middle of something and waving the tea-towel at the damn smoke alarm, only to have it go off again in another 10 minutes!!

the only time my alarm goes off when I'm cooking is if something burns. the smoke is what makes the alarm go off.

yes, but only when I cook pork chops. I call it my cooking timer. When the alarm goes off, my chops are done.
