Depends on the type of work you're doing. If it's residential, then lower rate 8-10, if it's commercial 10-13. These are approx. figures, check out the site below and go to the jobs section. Input electrician helper in the indeed search and it'll give you jobs with possible numbers. Also you can go to the salary section and input the NY zip and it will also give you the numbers.

If your just a helper it should be like 12 an hour
