All things also have a reason for existing and the candles is to be lit and guide us in the dark!
Sorry I dont know the reason we exist or what point there is to our lives. All we can do is live as we think we should until we too run out Maybe we will find out what it was all about then!

Assuming this question is about life, and what's the point in our being in the first place, consider this: When the candle finally goes out, assuming that the flame is it's life, is it truly gone? No, it's merely in a different form. It's in the smoke it produced, it's in the heat that it gave to the other things around it. You might even go so far as to say that the smoke is it's soul, and the heat it gave off is it's relationships it created throughout it's life. After all, aren't those the two most important things we posses?

Not all things run out. But those that do, use them and enjoy them while you can.
Lots of good answers here already but I agree with the "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" theory. :-)
A candle's purpose is to burn, light up the dark, heat and then go out. It's just life. Appreciate it. Take it for what it's worth and move on...

What really matters is what you do in between times,of the candle being lit and going out.

Because smelling the aroma of coffee on a lazy morning is worth it...waking up beside the person you love is one the most wonderful things in this short candle life. Sweating yourself by working hard and receiving your pay and buying the things you want is fulfilling...I cant expound more but i guess you know what i mean...YES..I will definitely light the my candle know that someday it will burn out because the light & heat is worth experiencing.

If the candle didn't burn out... the candle wouldn't be fully appreciated. The point in lighting a candle in the first place is not for the candle to be lit anyway, but for other purposes (e.g. light, heat, mood).

So whats the point in living you mean.
Well its a good job everybody didn't think like that. maybe by lighting the candle and learning how it runs out you can improve the next one.

so you can enjoy the pleasure of light, even for a moment. at least you can say that you were able to see with the help of a candle. seeing is appreciating something that exists. lighting the candle helps you believe that something exists, including yourself who thought of lighting the candle.

The point is what we get from them while they're here. In the case of candles- we get light.
