- 23 executives and pioneers
- 16 managers
- 8 umpires
Currently 61 members are living.
In addition to the Hall of Famers, the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasters has been awarded to 30 men and the J.G. Taylor Spink award for baseball writing to 57 men. Though they are not official members of the HOF, living awardees serve on the Veterans Committee and they are often referred to as Hall of Fame broadcasters/journalists.

The defunct Committee on ***** Leagues selected nine members between 1971-1977. The Hall of Fame currently has 61 living members.
