Massage contraindications are there for certain diseases/ injury's / symptoms, but the list is long. If you list a specific problem which you are not sure of being able to receive massage with, then it would be easier to give you some suggestions. A massage therapist would be able to go over your personal details with you and help figure it out.

As a former massage therapist, you should not receive massage if there is any diagnosis from a doctor of embolism, anyeurysm, cancer, blood clots which I believe are the same as embolism. Because massage getss the blood moving throughout the whole body, ask your medical doctor if you have anything contraindicated to receiving a weekly massage.
