I am 30 weeks and recently moved. I have Medicaid and once I moved, had to find a new doctor who accepts Medicaid. Contacted Madicaid and had them send me a provider list for OB/GYN's in this area. I have called the places close to me and I am having a problem with either a) They no longer accept Medicaid insurance, b)The doctor is gone until after the first of the year and won't be accepting new patients till then (if at all), or c) They tell me that they will not accept me because I am "Too far along" nor can they refer me to anyone who can help. One idiot actually had the nerve to say "O-well, just go to the hospital" I can see me sitting in the emergency room for a baby checkup. Ha!! Are they really allowed to deny me because I'm "too far along"?? I even had one place tell me to sign a release form and send it to my old hospital so they could transfer my records-which I did- before they told me they couldn't accept me. Now what do I do?? Anyone?

Yes, this sucks but they can do this. Not accepting patients with one kind of insurance and holidays is common (no matter if you are on Medicaid or the most expensive coverage in the country). The too far along thing is strange though and you shouldn't be turned away for this (they probably feel it is hard to develop a relationship/ ensure a safe delivery in such a short amount of time).

Your best bet is to call your old doctor and ask if he can help you find a new doctor in your area.

Next best choice is to go to the hospital. The advice they gave you is true. You won't have to wait too long to see someone for a baby checkup and the doctor on staff can help you locate a doctor for the next 2 months. When it comes time to deliver, you seldom get delivered by your doctor anyways.

They legally can say no. Taking on a patient who is "too far along" is really expensive for the provider, which Medicaid doesnt reimburse very well. SO the provider doesnt want to lose any money. The ER will have treat you if you go. You have 2 options.....call the Medicaid office of where you use to live and explain the situation to them...they can help you find a doctor in your area...or two call the Medicaid office where you are currently living and ask who is your case worker....and demand you case worker does her job and find you a doctor..you are pregnant and dont need the added stress or maybe got to the Medicaid office in person..they are ususally more helpful..but beware the lines are extremely long and be prepared to sit an entire day.

Well, depending on how far from your old OB/GYN I'd go back there. Now if you can't go that far then you may just have to wait until after the New Year, when are you scheduled for your next visit? But of course if you have any complications at all, immediately go to the hospital or call 911, depending on the urgency of the situation.

I would suggest calling the hospital where you are wanting to give birth. If they take your insurance, they may have ob's on staff that will see you now until you give birth. Most private practice doctors or clinics won't take on patients after a certain time, but I'm not really sure why that is. Good luck!

I do not fairly fully grasp... are you asking if a lady who's presently pregnant, three-five months alongside, can get pregnant with a moment youngster throughout the identical being pregnant? If so, no this isn't feasible considering that the cervix/uterus is closed off (mucus plug and whatnot) If nevertheless you imply a lady who is had a youngster three-five months earlier, sure it is feasible to get pregnant once more so quickly after having the little one.

I would personally call medicaid and explain the situation. Explain how far along you are and ask if they can actully do that. If they said No, call the Drs office back that said No and tell them What medicaid said, then report them if they turn you down. Good lUck

Get back in touch with the medicaid person you talked to and tell them what you are experiencing, most likely they will get you a doctor real quick.

No they cant do that to you. You contact your old hospital and tell them to send your records to that hospital, but if you go in labor they should have no choice but to let you in that hospital. Its not right ,but yea contact you old hospital a.s.a.p.
