What was it like befor time began?

since galaxies are moving away its as if there were a cosmic explosion similar to that of our solar system except on a much greater scale. now befrot he universe was formed by this possible comsic explosion what was there, anit matter?and time had to have started someone because you cant have negative time so when did universe time actually start what was it like befor anything was formed just infinte light or dark? its so complex never ending and confusing help me

We don't even know IF time began, much less what it was like. There's no problem with a negative value for time. Watch the countdown to a shuttle launch. The train can be minus five minutes early (five minutes late). Calling a specific time zero is arbitrary. Our calendar started approximately with the ministry of Jesus Christ on earth. Everything before that is measured 'BC' (Before Christ). If some variant of the Big Bang theories is true, it still doesn't tell us what happened before the bang, where the bang came from, or even if time or space existed before the bang.

"Before" refers to a time less than zero (starting a the BB), so you answered your own question: "you cant have negative time". Without the universe having been born, the universe was just like you were before you were born. The only difference is that you can image *other things* being around without you having been born. Since the universe is *everything* (including space and time itself), there cannot be such things without it having been born.
