I went to my doctor on Monday and he took me off the meds to make the contractions stop since they started at 7 months and I've been on bedrest since. I lost the majority of my plug last Friday and since then small amounts have been coming out. My doc said I'm 2 cm dilated and shorter and effaced (didn't tell me exact #). Today since about 3 hours ago I've been having what *I* think are contractions (top of belly pushing down, even down my back pushing down) they come every 5 or 6 mins and make me catch my breath. What should I do should I go to the hospital?? Or wait to see blood or WHAT!!

If you doctor has cleared you to deliver now, wait until contractions are 3-5 minutes apart. Then go in. If has not (meaning if you went into labor he would still want to stop the labor) then go in now. Term is considered 37 weeks. Also, with my first I was on meds to stop labor that came about 10 weeks early. I was dialated to 2 and having regular contractions for nearly 2 months and my son ended up being 3 days LATE! Sometimes that is a side effect.

When i first went into labor, my contractions didn't hurt. I knew they were happening, but thought they were weird. I was only 38 weeks along so I was expecting to go another 2 weeks. Anyway.. I sat on the computer after a nap and then all of a sudden felt a gush. Damn mucous plug all down my leg. Then the contractions became regular. It's different for everyone. For now just time them. The leaking stuff could be your water leaking? I am not sure.

You need to head to the doctor. The baby will be okay but i think he/she is going to make an early arrival. My son is fine and I had him at 24 weeks! You are in the early stages of your 9th month!

my friend Andrea recently gave birth, she was having the same problems but hers started when she was 6 months pregnat... her doctor told her she had 2 choices ( she was 9.9 cm) she could try to give birth and if it failed they would do a Sec. or she could wait until she reached 7 months and then give birth... she went ahead and ended up giving birth, talk to your doctor and see what he/she says...

Call your doctor and ask if they want you to come in. If it is getting painful and hard to breathe I would say you are in labor.

go to local hospital of it is after office hours. if not after hours call his office and ask them what you need to do but to me it sounds as of you are goinginto labor and also that your dr thinks it is safe for you to go into labor thats why he took you off those meds
