Elmer's Glue is PVA based or polyvinylacetate. it has absolutely no animal or milk products at all. it is all synthetic resins. if it had cow parts in it do you think the cow on the bottle would be so happy?

There are no animal products in Elmer s School Glue. It is entirely synthetic. It contains water and PVA (polyvinyl acetate). Any other ingredients it may contain are not disclosed by the company. The original glue from 100 years ago was derived from milk, but that hasn t been true for a long time. Elmer s Natural Glue is "99%" derived from plants.

According to Elmers.com, "Our products are made from synthetic materials and are not derived from processing horses, cows or any other animals." The ingredients are claimed to be non-toxic. The fingerpaints contain wheat and oat products.

The original Elmer's glue used a cow's milk protein called casein. The bull on the label, according to the folks at Elmers, was Elmer, who was "husband" to Bordon's corporate symbol Elsie the cow. Bordon was the original manufacturer of Elmer's glue back in 1947.
