Though I've never heard of that one, I have a simple idea-- it could be because Christmas colors are red, green, and white and this could be a way of fulfilling the quota for green on your plate.

I'm going to take this as a suggestion for what to serve for Christmas because I love Brussels Sprouts and they'd be lovely for Christmas Dinner!

Me! Brussels sprouts, brussels sprouts, brussels sprouts. There, I said it, and they're from a field in Lincolnshire. You don't even understand what political correctness is.

I don't like them much, but that could be years of over-cooked slush. My mother-in-law used to start cooking the sprouts on Christmas Eve!

However, Nigella's sprouts looked lovely tonight (steady, boys) - parboiled for 5 minutes and fried in butter with lardons and chestnuts.

I don't just eat brussel sprouts at Christmas time, I eat them whenever you can buy them, I think they are one of the very best vegetables ever produced

Because its British!!
And, I think that "political correctness" now forbids us to say Brussel Sprouts UNLESS they are from Brussels.

Crazy maybe but i'm sure I heard it somewhere?...
Hmm, i'll try and find the source.

EDIT:
It seems that you must call it "Brussel Sprout" as "BrusselS Sprout" links it exactly to Brussels.

It has always been a Christmas tradition ever since I was a young lad. Sprouts make a Christmas dinner.

We don't eat spouts on Christmas, but I love them, especially when cooked with a couple rashers of bacon.
