I am 24 years old and my husband is 25 we have been trying now for 6 months with no sucsess. I do have ulcerative colitis and I was told this would not hinder my efforts to concieve. Many of my girlfriends around the same age have gotten pregnant right away, my doctor says I should continue trying and only return after one year has passed. Any suggestions or tips about how to speed up the process? Any advise would help. I have used ovulation kits and nothing has happend yet..should I be worried?

this is what i told someone else with a question similar to yours:

First you need to find out when you ovulate.

you can monitor it online (which takes a few months of a normal period until they start predicting days for you)

try using fertilityfriend... or mymonthlycycles. i use them both.

i don't like charting BBT (basal body temp, or your temperature when you first wake up) because it only tells you AFTER you ovulate.

also look at your CM (cervical mucus) it will be like egg-whites when you are the most fertile

this is my first month of ttc (trying to conceive) and i used an ovulation predictor stick. It will tell you 1-2 days in advance when you will ovulate.

once you figure out when you ovulate, have sex 2 days before, the days before, and the day after. (but if you are just using an online website, i suggest having sex the whole week when you are to ovulate because there are no test)

also, smoking lowers your chances of conceiving.

To increase them a little: exercise often, take vitamins designed for either women or prenatal and don't be around any smokers.

and don't be worried, only around 60% of couples conceive after 6 months, but 80% around a year and 90% after 18 months. It normal, and i wouldn't worry too much about it yet because stress lowers your chances a LOT!

GOOD LUCK!!

Pregnancy is so much about chance and that is why a doctor will start fertility treatment only if you try for 12 months. So here are a few things to try:
1. Position: The best is man on top and after that you should lie still with a pillow under your hips for at least 30 minutes.
2. No lubricants, not even saliva. Only if you must, use Pre-Seed.
3. Take your folic acid caps.
4. Make love as often as you possibly can. That increases probability.

It's normal for it to take up to 6 months, and if you're still struggling much longer than that, I would look into it further with a doc.

Eat right, excersize. Keeping in good health is good for you, your baby, and for concieving.

I imagine youve tried everything, but here's a suggestion just in case: Climax just as he's climaxing. This causes your cervical opening to pulse and actually can create more suction, which can be helpful for sucking up his little swimmers.

I'm on pregancy number 3, and the first time it took me about five and a half months to concieve.

Keep doing your thing, I guess, and good luck!

For extra in most cases than now not sexually animated couple who must now not using starting manage, the chance of having pregnant is ready 25%. That is truely the threat that the fertilised egg will implant within the uterus (there is also approximately 100% chance of fertilising an egg). This measure will keep till the age of 35. Of path, the probabilities will lower at specified circumstances of the month with the prime-pleasant risk going as much as 25%. So naturally kids, get condoms or different starting manage and feature reliable clever, however pleasurable intercourse.

There's old wives' tales you can check.
Have your husband:
Wear boxers
Drink Coffee
You:
Don't drink coffee
Just keep trying, and enjoy the practice. Doctors usually won't offer any fertility assistance until you've actively tried to conceive for a year. Best of luck and Merry Christmas!
