If your boyfriend doesn't have a job and your parents don't have a good opinion of him... hm.... I'm thinking you should take your parents' advice.
If the father wants to maintain a relationship with his son, I won't argue with that. But if he isn't willing to take responsibility for the kid.... is that really the kind of father you want for your son?

If he really cares about you and your son, he WILL find some way to support you- financially, at least. In the meanwhile, you should see if you can find other ways of supporting yourself. You've got yourself a baby now, and you will need all the help you can get.

This baby is a very special person and it needs all the love it can get. Only you know the real answer to your question. Stop and think a couple of years ahead! Who do you rate 4 that will still be by your side? Your man has a right to be a dad but only if YOU not your parents thinks its right. This child is your baby forever and especially the next 18yrs so think deep and with love you will make the right decisions.

Do you love this guy? and you know what even if you did love him love does not pay formula diapers, clothing and everything else a baby needs. You are very lucky to have support from both your parents. to me this guy sounds lazy. You could try talking to him see if he want to leave with u to fl. maybe he could change. if he don't want to go well let it be. and never denied the father let him know who his father is when he grows he'll understand just never bad mouthed about his dad. go with your parents u might be better off. if you stay with this guy you could be miserable and bring up your son in a bad atmosphere

You should allow the father to be in the child's life, but he does need to be responsible for the baby too. He needs to get a job and help you take care of the baby even if it turns out you don't stay together.

If your boy friend is mean to you than you should dumb him your parents are right. I know it will be hard in all sense you love him and he is the father of your child.
he should go and get a job wanting to be a man and support the baby.
Even if you to do break up and he don't want to support the baby take him to court for child support.
Remember he can only be a part of the baby's life only if he is wiling to,

Sorry, but whether you stay with him or not, your guy is going to have to get a job. It's called child support and he is required by law to give it to you. Even if he decides not to "be a father." Tell him that you would love to stay with him, but he's just going to have to go down to McDonalds or something and start working. That should make your parents happy.

Have you considered giving the baby up for adoption? There are a lot of people who are unable to get pregnant and may be able to provide the baby with a better life.

he needs to be responsible. don't make it easy on him .. your parents will most likely provide for the baby, but the father needs to get a job and help out.. it's not easy raising a baby and baby stuff is expensive.. tell him to get a job and help you support the baby.. or maybe your dad can talk to him and tell him to get a job!

You should keep him in the childs life, but tell him that if he doesnt get a job '' Ill take you to court''. We all know that you dont want to do that, but if he doesnt care then that's where it has to go. You obviously love him so talk to him about it. Okay!

Well you dont have to stay with your boyfriend to keep him in his childs life. If he wants to know his child and you both agree on that then there's nothin to worry about. But you cannot control both ends of the situation. Good luck.
